Taking Centerstage: Creating a Burlesque Solo
Tuesdays, 6:30-8pm

Make provocative art and put it on stage. Inside this 8-week studio class, you’ll create and present your own, one-of-a-kind burlesque act and cultivate the resources necessary to get it booked. Share community while stepping outside of your comfort zone and learn something new about your unique brand of sexy!
Attune to your natural abundance through speaking and performance exercises that will help you share yourself more freely, while opening to receive the accolades and attention you deserve – onstage and off!
Plus you’ll be invited to perform your polished burlesque act as part of the next Sacred Tassels.
You’ll also gain access to my extensive online Burlesque Library, with short courses that cover costuming, hair/makeup, choreography, and so much more

Bump & Grind: Burlesque Essentials
Tuesdays, 8-9:30pm

If you’re brand new to Chicago burlesque classes, this is the best place to start, but even life-long dancers appreciate this intro to the art of tease.
In this class, you’ll be encouraged to learn and remember flirty choreography from week to week, while becoming familiar with basic burlesque moves: bump & grind, struts, shimmies, and more.
Build a solid foundation for creating any style of burlesque – sexy, cheeky, funny, or weird!
No dance or theatre background is necessary.

Take command of the stage through these fundamental movements of burlesque. Strut your stuff while learning to augment these dance styles to fit into an act you’re already building, while retaining a sense of uniqueness. Get inspired to create your own burlesque act.
Fan Dancing from The Heart
Sat Jun 10, 1-2:30pm (90 min)Glide into the basics of fan dancing, including hand holds, twirls, and the elegant sweeps that define classic fan dancing. Hearken back to the dawn of American burlesque while soaking in the high feminine energy vibes. Bring your feather fans, your veil fans, or any other fans you prefer for this workshop.
Astrology for Artists & Mystics

Pasty Making & Twirling Party!

Join the party and twirl your tassels with us! First, you’ll learn to make a pair of rhinestone just like the ones I sell in my Etsy Gift Shop. Then, let go of inhibitions and learn how to twirl your pasties as well as a short burlesque routine. Talk about a party trick!

There are a limited number of “pay what you can” scholarships available each session for Chicago burlesque classes.

I am GNC/cis/trans masculine. Are your classes for me?
Although my burlesque practice focuses on feminine energy and the exercises and language I use unapologetically centers femininity and womanhood, my workshops and classes are open to all bodies – just as they have been for 13+ years!
What do I wear for burlesque class? What kind of shoes should I wear?
Wear clothing you feel comfortable moving in. For Floorwork, we dance barefoot. For other Chicago burlesque classes, explore heels that you’d like to feel confident wearing.
Is there a performance at the end of the 8-week session?
Right now, there’s no official performance, but students have organized their own appearances outside of class, and we record an informal performance (just for us) on the 8th class in full costume, hair, & makeup.
What level of experience do I need to join your burlesque classes Chicago?
Burlesque is unlike any other dance genre in that it’s a free and open movement style. So if you have no experience moving your body, or if you’re an expert dancer you’ll feel comfortable in my classes.
How’s parking?
There’s plenty of metered parking outside of the studio, as well as plenty of free parking on the side streets.
